A little about my Home town

NAGROTA BAGWAN

This place lies in between way from Kangra to Palampur National Highway.
The way also goes to Chamunda Devi Temple

As of 2001 India censes, Nagrota Bagwan had a population of 5655. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Nagrota Bagwan has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 76%. In Nagrota Bagwan, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age

It has its unique identification
Most of the people of Nagrota Bagwan are farmers.The others are doing some other jobs like teachers...Guys I am telling you about this place because its my home town..and I just love this place..

There are so much schools in Nagrota Bagwan.The quality of education is very high..In olden times It was a little village and there are only mahajans and mahtas lived in the streets of Nagrota..Still there successors are living in this town.and They have a lots of lands with them from their ancestors..
Mr.G.S.Bali is the MLA of this town and he had been the transport minister of town..

The town has a Railway station outside.The tourists can enjoy the toy train fron Ranital to Nagrota Bagwan then after visiting Chamunda temple and Dharamshala,they can move towards Baijnath through toy train from Malan railway station.

The Chintpurni Fair

Mata Chintpurni The Chintpurni fair, locally known as ‘Mata Da Mela’(fair of the mother Goddess) is held in village Chintpurni on a spur of the hill range of the same name, about 3 kms. to the west of Bharwain. The fair is held near the temple of Goddess Bhagwati Chhinmastaka, where, it is said, the mother Goddess appeared in astral form in ancient times. The site is approached by metalled road from Una, Hoshiarpur and Kangra which are situated at a distance of 56, 48 and 64 kms away respectively. The fair being held from time immemorial is held thrice a year in the month of Chet (March-April), Sawan (July-August) and Asanj (September-October).
